Humane Bat Exclusion

Bats are good for the ecosystem, and we never harm them. We use one-way exclusion devices, timed outside maternity season, and then seal the building.

Bats roost in attics, behind stucco trim, under roof tiles and in wall voids. Signs include guano piling up below an opening, staining on stucco, and bats flying out at dusk.

We install one-way devices so bats can leave but can't come back in. We schedule this outside the summer maternity season, when flightless pups would be sealed inside. Once the bats are out, we seal every gap and clean up the guano.

If anyone has had direct contact with a bat, or a bat was found in a room where someone was sleeping, contact a healthcare provider or the NM Department of Health first. See our Q&A on bats and rabies.
